GAME FLOW & NOTES
- Elayna Grillakis (Lowell, Mass.) settled a throw in at her feet in the 13th minute, she turned to her left and rifled a shot that hit off the crossbar from about 20 yards out. Amber Birchwell (Mastic, N.Y.) almost tapped in the rebound but the defender closed in on her to stop the ball.
- Georgetown's Caitlin Farrell completed a crossover at the corner of the 18-yard box then took a left-footed shot to the upper right 90, but Shelby Hogan punched the ball over the crossbar in the 29th minute.
- Georgetown was close to taking the lead in the 39th minute, Boo Jackson had an open shot from the six-yard box after Hogan came out for a cross. The ball bounced around before Jackson hit the post.
- The Hoyas outshot Providence in the first half, 10-5.
- Georgetown put pressure on the Friar back line most of the second half. Kyra Carusa was defended by Alessandra Arace (Pittsfield, Mass.) on the left side of the 18-yard box in the 74th minute. Karussa turned to her right side and just put her shot wide.
- Catilin Farrell gave the Hoyas the lead in the 83rd minute. A Georgetown shot was re-directed in the box that forced Hogan out of position. Farrell ran onto the re-directed ball and finished her shot far post past Hogan.
