CINCINNATI, OHIO – The Providence College volleyball team faced the Xavier Musketeers on Sunday, Nov. 12. The Friars dropped the match three sets to one. With the loss, Providence moved to 16-15 (5-11) on the season.
FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Friars dropped set one, 25-17.
-Addison Root (Wichita, Kan.) recorded five kills in set one, with Cayla Veverka (Collegeville, Pa.) adding four kills as well.
-Allison Barber (Woodbury, Minn.) tallied 11 assists.
-McKenzie Lydon (Stuart, Fla.) recorded five digs.
SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence bounced back to take set two, 25-19.
-Root added six kills in set two.
-Barber recorded 16 assists and five digs in set two.
-Lydon had another solid set with six digs in the set.
THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-Providence dropped the third set, 25-20.
-Root again led the Friars with five kills.
-Lydon tallied five digs in the third set.
FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHTS:
-The Friars dropped the fourth and final set with a score of 25-14.
-Root had three kills in the final set.
-Barber added seven assists.
-Lydon had three digs.
MATCH HIGHS:
-Root led the team with 19 kills. Veverka also had double-digit kills with 10.
-Lydon tallied 19 digs for Providence.
-Barber recorded a double-double with 36 assists and 11 digs.
-The team tallied five blocks and four service aces in the match.

The Friars wraps up their regular season with matches against Villanova and Georgetown on Nov. 17-18.
