The Friars and Bulldogs last met on Nov. 8 in the 2015 BIG EAST Championship. The Friars were defeated 1-0.
Scouting the Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are 8-2-2 overall and are 1-0-1 in the BIG EAST after a double overtime tie against St. John's University (0-0) on Sept. 29. The Bulldogs have not conceded a goal in the past six competitions, the last goal against came on Sept. 4 in a loss against LSU (2-1). Senior Serina Kashinmoto is tied as the BIG EAST leader in points (20) and goals scored (8) on the season. Sophomore Paige Monaghan follows Kashinmoto with eight points on the season on three goals and two assists.
Red Shirt Freshman goalkeeper Hannah Luedtke has recorded 40 saves in 12 games. Luedtke's goals against average is 0.45 and save percentage is 0.889.
Scouting the Friars
Heading into Sunday's match the Friars are 7-3-2 on the season and 1-0-1 in BIG EAST play. The Friars defeated Xavier University in overtime on Thursday, Sept. 30, 2-1. The overtime win marks the Friars third overtime appearance and first overtime win in 2016. Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) leads the Friars attack with six goals and one assist, for 13 points on the season. Hiller is tied for 5th in the BIG EAST in goals scored. Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) ranks second in points for the Friars with 11 points on four goals and three assists.
Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) leads the BIG EAST in saves with 57 saves over 12 games. Shea has totaled 1146:25 minutes in goal and recorded a goals against average of 0.94 and a save percentage of 0.826.
Season Awards
Sept. 26: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after a shutout against then-No.6/3 Georgetown University.
Sept. 19: Senior Rachel Ugolik (Hamden, Conn.) was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after a 2-0 weekend with Friar victories over Central Connecticut on Sept. 15 (3-1) and Massachusetts on Sept. 18 (3-0). The forward was tied for most points on the weekend in the BIG EAST on two goals and two assists.
Sept. 5: Senior goalkeeper Kristyn Shea (Piscataway, N.J.) was named BIG EAST goalkeeper of the week after a shutout weekend against both Boston University and Colgate University.
Sept. 5: Junior Juliana Pellegrini (Rockville Centre, N.Y) received BIG EAST honor roll recognition after scoring three of the Friars' seven goals on the weekend.
Aug. 29: Graduate student Kathryn Hiller (Dartmouth, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after scoring both of the Friars' goals against Northeastern and Maine, respectively.
Aug. 22: Sophomore Katie Day (East Hampstead, N.H.) earned BIG EAST Honor Roll after notching her first career goal on a penalty kick in the 82nd minute against then, No. 10 Rutgers.
