Milwaukee, Wis. - The Providence College volleyball team lost to the Marquette Golden Eagles in three sets on Oct. 21st. The Friars fall to 13-12 (1-8) while Marquette improves to 18-4 (8-2).
The Friars were led by offensively by freshman Jenae Alderson (Brooklyn Park, Minn.) and freshman Cayla Veverka (Collegeville, Pa.). Alderson led the team with six kills while Veverka tallied five. Junior Chicyia Clark (Huntington Beach, Calif.) recorded a double-double with 12 assists and 10 digs. Senior defensive specialist Michelle Cruz (Midland Park, N.J.) led the team in digs with 14.
Taylor Louis led the Golden Eagles' attack with 15 kills. Defensively, Marquette had two players with double digit digs. Sara Blaiser recorded 11 while Lauren Houg tallied 12 in the victory.
The Friars return to action on Oct. 22 with a match against DePaul. The match will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network.
