Kadeem Batts Named To BIG EAST Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - It was announced today (Feb. 18) that Providence College junior forward Kadeem Batts (Powder Springs, Ga.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll. Batts was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll after he led the Friars to a 2-0 record last week. It marks the second consecutive week that Batts has earned league honors as he was named BIG EAST Player of the Week on Feb. 11.

Batts averaged 22 points and six rebounds while shooting 56.3 percent (18-32) from the field. Batts scored a team-high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds in the Friars' 76-66 win at USF on February 13. On February 16, the junior forward had a game-high 20 points after shooting 10-16 from the field as the Friars upset No. 21/21 Notre Dame, 71-54, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. He also grabbed six rebounds in the game. Batts has scored 20 or more points in each of the last three games for the Friars. Batts is second on the team in scoring (14.9 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg).

Batts also was named College Sports Madness BIG EAST Men's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

The Friars return to action on Wednesday, February 20 at No. 8 Syracuse at 7:00 p.m. on ESPN2.
