PITTSBURGH, Pa. --The Providence College volleyball team (1-8) was swept (16-25, 23-25, 19-25) by co-host Robert Morris University (2-4) in the Duquesne/Robert Morris Invitational on Saturday, September 1.

Sophomore Anna Russian (Round Rock, Texas) led the Friars with 11 kills and a .450 hitting percentage. Freshman Jordan Wiesler (Coconut Creek, Fla.) accounted for 24 of the team's 28 assists and senior Cassie Muzzonigro (Gibsonia, Pa.) led the Friars with 14 digs. Sophomores Kelly Ashmore (St. Louis, Mo.) and Colleen McCollom (Indian Head Park, Ill.) both collected 13 digs, and added four and nine kills, respectfully.

Up next for the Friars is a trip to Rider University in Lawrenceville, N.J. on Tuesday, September 4. The match is slated to begin at 6:00p.m.

Providence will play its first match at home this season on Sunday, October 7 versus America East foe Stony Brook. This match will mark the first athletic event played in the renovated Mullaney Gymnasium in Alumni Hall.
