Gerard Coleman Named To BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Sophomore men's basketball player Gerard Coleman (Boston, Mass.) was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll on Monday, February 6 for his performance last week versus Rutgers and West Virginia. Coleman averaged 22.5 points and six rebounds over the two games.

On Wednesday, February 1, the Friars defeated Rutgers, 78-67, at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. In the game, Coleman registered 15 points , including 7-11 from the free throw line, and grabbed seven rebounds in 28 minutes. In a 87-84 overtime loss to West Virginia at home, Coleman played in all 45 minutes of the game and scored a career-high 30 points as he was 12-16 (.750) from the free throw line and 9-15 (.600) from the field. He also grabbed five rebounds in the game.

Coleman is second on the team in rebounding as he is averaging 5.2 rebounds per game in 23 games this season. He also is third on the team in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game.
