PROVIDENCE, R.I. -

On Tuesday night, Friar Athletics held its New York City Sports Night at PJ Clarke's on the Hudson in downtown Manhattan. The event was hosted by Board of Trustee member, Tom Boyan '85 and more than 100 alumni and fans were in attendance.

During the event, Friar fans had the opportunity to meet Head Men's Basketball Coach Ed Cooley, as well as Sophomore forward LaDontae Henton and Senior point guard Vincent Council who was named to the Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team the following day.

A very strong showing of lacrosse alumni was in attendance to meet first year Head Lacrosse Coach, Chris Gabrielli and his staff. The event served as a preview for the upcoming winter and spring seasons and Athletic Director Bob Driscoll and Head Women's Ice Hockey Coach Bob Deraney were in attendance to speak about the renovation to Schneider Arena which will begin in November.

Friar fans save the date for Monday March 11th when Friartown returns to PJ Clarke's in midtown for the annual BIG EAST Championship Kick-Off Fundraiser.
