Jacksonville, Fla. - The Providence College volleyball squad fell to Jacksonville, 3-0 in the final match of the Loop Pizza Grill Invitational in Jacksonville, Fla. on Saturday, September 01. Jacksonville swept the match by the scores of 30-20, 30-17, and 30-27. Senior co-captain Sarah Fleming (St. Paul, Minn.) led all players with 13 kills. With the loss, Providence drops to 3-2 on the season.
Junior Elizabeth Flynn (Bellerose, N.Y.) joined Fleming in double-figure kills with 12. Flynn also was named to the All-Tournament team at the conclusion of the tournament. Junior Aida Cadres (Beverly Hills, Calif.) filled up the stat sheet this evening with a solid performance. She tallied three kills, two assists, four aces, eight digs and one block. Fleming and Flynn lead the Friars in kills through five games this season with 67 and 65, respectively.
Providence will continue to stay on the road traveling to Hamden Conn. on Friday, September 7 and Saturday, September 8 for the Quinnipiac Invitational.
