AMHERST, Mass. -- The Providence College men's golf team finished fourth of 22 schools at the Toski Invitational at the Hickory Ridge Country Club in Amherst, Mass. on October 8.
Providence shot a two-day, two-round total of 603 (298-305). The Friars were 17 strokes behind Yale, which won the Invitational with a score of 586 (295-291) on the 6,794 yard, par-72 course.
The Friars were led by senior Chris Hynes (Warwick, R.I.) who tied for second with a two-day total of 146 (71-75). PC's other golfers were Chris Tobey of Hopkinton, Mass. (tied 11th, 72-78--150), freshman Steve Woelfel of Norwood, Mass. (tied 29th, 78-77--155), senior Steve O'Brien of Cranston, R.I. (tied 51st, 78-83--161) and freshman Kevin McGrath of Upper Montclair, N.J. (tied 76th, 81-86--167)
Yale's Chris Eckerle won the individual title with a score of 143 (74-69).
The Friars will return to action on October 13-14 at the Yale Fall Invitational in New Haven, Conn.
