Rutgers University Scarlet Knights (9-5-1) - Rutgers is coming off a 2-1 home loss against Syracuse on Sunday, October 14. Freshman forward Meghan Cameron (Succasunna, N.J.) scored the lone goal for the Scarlet Knights. Rutgers' biggest win this season came against fifth-ranked Notre Dame (2-1) on October 5. The Scarlet Knights are led by freshman midfielder Carli Lloyd (Delran, N.J.) and senior forward Keri Lages (Bayville, N.J.) who have nine goals and four assists each (22 points). Rutgers leads the all-time series against the Friars, 11-0, including a 5-0 victory during the 1999 season.
Providence College Friars (5-6-2) - Providence College enters Friday's game against Rutgers after a 2-2 tie against Binghamton on Tuesday, October 16. Junior midfielder Megan Kashner (Wareham, Mass.) scored her first collegiate goal to put the Friars up 1-0 in the 43rd minute. Just eight seconds before halftime, the Friars increased their lead to 2-0 when junior midfielder Kyle McAuley (Trumbull, Conn.) fired a shot into the net off Maura Robertson's (Wellesley, Mass.) corner kick. However, Binghamton tallied two goals less than four minutes apart to force the game into overtime. Robertson leads the team in scoring with three goals and five assists (11 points), while forwards Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) and Kate Kearney (Glastonbury, Conn.) have nine points each.
