Providence Women's Soccer Hosts Binghamton on Tuesday, October 16

Binghamton University Bearcats (8-4-0) - Binghamton looks to extend its four-game winning streak as it faces Providence on Tuesday, October 16. The Bearcats are coming off a 5-0 home win against Canisius on Saturday, October 13. Junior midfielder Mary Fazio (East Northport, N.Y.) scored the game winner and senior forward Sarah Young (Hopewell Junction, New York) added two goals to lift the Bearcats. During their four game win streak, the Bearcats have outscored their opponents 13-3. One of Binghamton's eight victories came against St. John's, a 1-0 overtime decision on September 9. Sophomore forward Tracy Kasmarcik (Binghamton, N.Y.) leads the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists (22 points), while freshman forward Tatiana Mathelier (Pomona, N.Y.) has seven goals (14 points).

Providence College Friars (5-6-1, 1-4-1 BIG EAST) - Providence College is coming off a 2-1 loss against Georgetown University on Sunday, October 14. Freshman forward Kate Kearney (Glastonbury, Conn.) scored the lone goal for the Friars. The Friars had several opportunities to take a 2-1 lead, but were turned aside by the Georgetown defense. On Friday, October 12, the Friars earned their first BIG EAST Conference Northeast Division win since 1999 as they defeated Virginia Tech, 3-1. Junior midfielder Kyle McAuley (Trumbull, Conn.), Kearney and freshman midfielder Maura Robertson (Wellesley, Mass.) all scored for the Friars. Robertson leads the squad in scoring with three goals and four assists (10 points) while senior forward Caitlyn Welsh (Winter Springs, Fla.) has three goals and three assists (nine points). Kearney leads PC in goals scored with four. Tuesday's game will mark the first ever meeting between Binghamton and Providence. The game was originally scheduled for September 16 but was postponed because of the September 11 tragedies.
