Ben Bridgeo Earns Guy Tedesco Award

PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Providence College senior golfer Ben Bridgeo (Southbridge, Mass.) was named the recipient of the Guy Tedesco Award, which is given annually to a New England College golfer who has made a significant contribution to college golf and who also reflects the values of sportsmanship.

Bridgeo, who serves as a captain of the Friar golf team this season, has posted a career average of 75.8 in 67 rounds in his four years at Providence.

This fall, he was one of the Friars' top golfers. Bridgeo played all five matches and posted a 77.9 average in the 10 rounds.

In August, Bridgeo competed in the U.S. Amateur Championship at Baltusrol Country Club in Springfield, N.J.

Bridgeo is the son of Jeanne and David Bridgeo. He is a 1997 graduate of Southbridge High School.
