PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Providence College volleyball team was defeated by Harvard University, 3-1, on Tuesday October 24 at Cambridge, Mass.
The Friars (16-10 overall) were led by junior outside hitters Sarah Katinger (Stratford, Conn.) and Annie Cella (Burr Ridge, Ill.). Katinger tied for game-high honors with 16 kills and added a game-high 21 defensive digs in the loss. Cella contributed 14 kills and added 19 digs.
The Crimson (11-10 overall) dropped the first game of the match to the Friars, 15-10, before roaring back with wins in three-straight games, 15-4, 15-11 and 15-11.
Harvard was led by Erin Denniston, who totalled 16 kills and three blocks.
Providence returns to action this weekend when they travel to BIG EAST Conference foes Seton Hall and Rutgers. PC faced Seton Hall on Saturday, October 28 at 5:30 p.m. and Rutgers on Sunday, October 29 at 2:00 p.m.
