Athletic Department Holds Letter-Winner's Society Inductions

Athletic Director Robert G. Driscoll Recognizes 128 Student-Athletes Who Participate in Winter And Spring Sports at the College

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College Athletics Director Robert G. Driscoll inducted 128 student-athletes into the department's "Letter-Winner's Society" on Thursday, April 29, 2004. The induction was comprised of student-athletes who participate in winter and spring sports at the College. The "Letter-Winner's Society" was introduced to the campus community on December 4, 2003 as Driscoll unveiled the new tradition with its first induction ceremony involving 67 athletes who participate in falls sports. To date, the "Letter-Winner's Society" has 195 members. During the ceremony, each student-athlete received a lettermen's jacket.

The "Letter-Winner's Society" will hold two inductions each academic year to honor student-athletes who have met the criteria to earn a lettermen's jacket. A specific criteria has been developed for each sport by the head coaches and athletic department administrators.
