Men’s Golf Travels To Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

The Friars will compete in three rounds at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's golf team returns to action on Friday, March 27 through Sunday, March 29 at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate, hosted by East Carolina University, at Cutter Creek Golf Club in Snow Hill, N.C.

The three-round stroke-play tournament will be contested Friday through Sunday. Round one will begin Friday at 8:00 a.m. from the first and 10th tees, followed by the same on Saturday and Sunday.
 
The 14-team field competing with the Friars includes Gardner-Webb University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Charleston Southern University, East Carolina University, Francis Marion University, Old Dominion University, Sandhills Community College, Presbyterian College, Radford University, Elon University, Harvard University, Temple University and Campbell University.
 
Providence will compete on the par-72 course which ranges 7,280 yards.
 
The Friars last competed at the Peoples Championship at Sea Island Resort in St. Simons Island, Ga. on Thursday, March 12 through Saturday, March 14. The Friars finished 18th in the 21-team field with a score of 877 (+25). Freshman Callan Fahey (Wheaton, Ill.) was the top finisher for the Friars, placing tied for 22nd with a score of 213 (E). Fahey record a four-under 67 in the opening round for the lowest round of his career including six birdies, the most in a round he's recorded this season. The freshman finished with 12 birdies on the weekend.
 
Providence returned to action in the spring season at the Dorado Beach Collegiate at TPC Dorado Beach in Dorado, Puerto Rico on Sunday, Feb. 22 through Tuesday, Feb. 24. The Friars finished 14th in the 15-team field with a score of 920 (+56). Junior Campbell Skelly (Charleston, S.C.) led Providence, carding a 221 (+5) to tie for 34th overall. Skelly highlighted the week with a two-under 70 in the second round, tying for the eighth-best round of the day. The performance marked the lowest round by a Friar in the tournament. He finished the week with 11 birdies, the most by any Providence player. Graduate students Logan Jaeger (Basking Ridge, N.J.) and Kevin Legnard (Bethel, Conn.) made their collegiate debuts at the tournament.
 
The Friars resumed varsity competition in 2025-26 for the first time in 23 years, opening the season at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic in Milford, Conn., last September. Freshman Callan Fahey (Wheaton, Ill.) led Providence with a 10th-place finish out of 80 competitors, carding a 221 (+5). Junior Campbell Skelly (Charleston, S.C.) owns the program's top individual finish this season, placing tied for fifth at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial with a two-round score of 141 (-1).
 
Providence recorded its best team finish of the fall with a fifth-place showing at the Bash in the Boro at Georgia Southern University Golf Course on Oct. 14. During that event, freshman Will Spring (Concord, Mass.) fired the lowest round of the season for the Friars, shooting a six-under 66 with seven birdies.
