PROVIDENCE, R.I. – USA Lacrosse announced via USA Lacrosse Magazine that Providence College men's lacrosse player
Rhett Chambers (Larchmont, N.Y.) was named USA Lacrosse DI Men's Player of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 10.
Chambers led the Friars' offense to a 16-11 win versus in state rival Bryant on Feb. 16. The junior attackman registered a career-high nine points on four goals and a career-best five assists. Through two games, Chambers ranks first for the Friars in scoring with 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. He currently leads the BIG EAST in points per game (7.50), goals per game (4.00) and assists per game (3.50).
Chambers also earned Inside Lacrosse AXIA TIME Player of the Week on Tuesday, Feb. 10. Inside Lacrosse held a fan vote on its Instagram account on Monday, Feb. 9 to determine the award winner. Chambers garnered the most votes in a tightly contested poll and was named Player of the Week.
WHAT'S NEXT... The Friars will travel to Cambridge, Mass., to face No. 12/12 Harvard on Feb. 14. Faceoff is set for 2:00 p.m. and will be broadcast on ESPN+.
