BOSTON, Mass.- The Providence College men's track team competed at the Terrier Classic at Boston University on Saturday, Jan. 31, 2026. Sophomore Tom Breen (Providence, R.I.) won the 800-meter open division in a personal best time of 1:50.48.

Senior
Zane Powell (Auckland, New Zealand) competed in the 1000 meters and placed 15th with a time of 2:26.64.
Senior
Kyle Bloomer (Darien, Conn.) competed in the 400 meters invite division and placed 22nd with a time of 49.14.
Junior
Will Johnston (Auckland, New Zealand) had a strong finish in the mile with a time of 4:06.35.
Also in the 800 meters for the Friars was freshman
Matt McCabe (Marshfield, Mass) as he finished in a time of 1:54.12.
The Friar men recorded multiple strong finishes in the 3,000 meters. Sophomore Elliot Pugh (Tauranga, New Zealand) placed 41st in a time of 8:04.86, finishing second in his heat. Pugh was followed by freshman Olly Neate (Sydney, Australia), who placed 60th in 8:12.57 and sophomore
Ryan LoCicero (Bloomfield, N.J.), who finished 64th in 8:14.47. All three runners recorded a personal best.
In the 5,000 meters, sophomore
Liam McCay (Liverpool, England) finished 60th in a time of 14:50.18.
In the field events, junior
Jon Mignacca (Seekonk, Mass.) finished 16th in the high jump, jumping 1.85m. In the triple jump, senior
Nik Ventura (Jamison, Pa.) finished 20th overall with a mark of 12.32 m.
The Friars men's team will return to the track on Friday, Feb. 13, at the BU Valentine Invitational in Boston, Mass.
