PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College senior Philip Svedebäck (Växjö, Sweden) was named by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Wednesday (Jan. 14) as one of 29 goaltenders to the Watch List for the Mike Richter Award, given annually to the top men's NCAA Division I goaltender since 2014. This marks Svedebäck's fourth-consecutive season on the Mike Richter Award Watch List.
Svedebäck was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month for November after he led all Hockey East goaltenders with a 1.86 GAA and ranked second in save percentage at .934. He logged a league-high 484:32 in November, totaling 214 saves over eight games played. In seven Hockey East games this season, he has posted a 4-2-1 record with a 1.84 GAA and .930 save percentage. In 17 overall appearances this season, Svedebäck is 8-6-2 with a 2.32 GAA and .918 save percentage.
