PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's golf team is set to open the 2025-26 season on Monday, Sept. 8 and Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn.
Play begins Monday morning with the opening round, followed by the second round in the afternoon. The third and final round will be played Tuesday. The field includes 11 other schools:
Sacred Heart University, Fairfield University, Southern New Hampshire University, University of New Haven, University of Rhode Island, Saint Peter's University, Manhattan University, Hofstra University, Post University, Assumption University and Merrimack College.
Great River Golf Club, ranked among Golf Digest's best public courses in the United States, has been owned and operated by Sacred Heart since 2015. A par-72 layout designed by Tommy Fazio, the course stretches 7,000 yards and has been home to Sacred Heart golf since 2003.
This season's roster includes two graduate students, three juniors and three freshmen. Providence's lineup for the opener is to be determined.

The Friars will have two weeks off before competing in the Ryan T. Lee Memorial on Sept. 22-23 at Wethersfield Country Club in Wethersfield, Conn. The following weekend, Providence will play in the UConn Invitational at GreatHorse in Hampden, Mass., from Sept. 28-30.
To conclude the fall season, the Friars will compete in the Bash in the Boro and the Crusader Invitational. The Bash in the Boro, set for Oct. 13-14, will take place at Georgia Southern University Golf Course in Statesboro, Ga. The Crusader Invitational will be held Oct. 20-21 at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass.
The spring schedule will feature Providence's first appearance in the BIG EAST Championship since 2000. The 2026 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship is scheduled for May 2-4 at Riverton Pointe Golf and Country Club in Hardeeville, S.C.
