PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College volleyball team is set to host the 2nd Annual Rhode Island Challenge on Sept. 5-6 at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. The first day of the tournament will feature two matches, followed by four matches on the second and final day.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Friars are entering the tournament 1-2 after competing at the East Texas A&M Lion Invitational last weekend (Aug. 29-Aug. 30). The Friars defeated East Texas A&M (3-0) and fell to North Texas (1-3) and University of Arkansas at Little Rock (2-3).
Sophomore
Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) leads the Friars in kills, with 33. She is followed by junior
Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas), with 30. Berry leads the team in blocks and ranks second in the BIG EAST with 20.
Redshirt senior
Hadley Pride (Nashville, Tenn.) is currently leading the team and ranks second in the BIG EAST in digs (56).
Junior
Miller McDonald (Dallas, Texas) was named to the East Texas A&M Lion Invitational All-Tournament team after leading the Friars in assists, with 58. Additionally, she tops her team and leads the BIG EAST in service aces, with 10.
SCOUTING UNIVERSITY OF RHODE ISLAND… The Rams enter the weekend with a 2-1 record after playing in the Stony Brook Invite. The Rams defeated Siena (3-0) and Central Connecticut (3-0) and was defeated by Stony Brook (1-3).
Redshirt sophomore McKenna Melton leads the team in kills (25) and service aces (five).
Senior setter Kiera McCarles averages 4.33 assists per set and leads the team in total assists with 39.
Sophomore Dakota Henry leads the defense with 25 digs.
SCOUTING BROWN: The Bears open their 2025 season at the Rhode Island Challenge. Brown finished their 2024 season with a 11-14 overall record and an 8-6 mark in the Ivy League.
Senior Maria Sidorova led the team in kills with 335.
Sophomore Julia Kakkis averaged 8.87 assists per set and led the team in assists with 594.
Senior Jessie Golden led the team in digs with 381.
SCOUTING BRYANT: The Bulldogs enter the weekend 0-3 after playing at the Duke Tournament. Bryant lost to Duke (1-3), Florida International (0-3) and University of Houston (0-3).
Senior Arianna Ugolini leads the team in kills, with 29.
Junior Madison Koeller averages 5.10 assists per set and leads the team in total assists, with 51.
Junior Carrina Barron leads the team in digs (42) and service aces (three).

The Friars will return to Alumni Hall on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 6:00 p.m. to host New Haven.
