PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College field hockey team will host a pair of matches this weekend at Lennon Family Field in Providence, R.I. The Friars welcome BIG EAST foe Georgetown on Friday, Sept. 26 at 3:00 p.m. and close the weekend with Hofstra on Sunday, Sept. 28 at Noon.

SCOUTING PROVIDENCE (4-3):
• Providence enters the weekend with a 4-3 record, including an 0-1 mark in BIG EAST play.
• The Friars' two games at Lennon Family Field will wrap up a seven-game home stand.
• The Friars have lost three-straight games, including two matches that were decided in overtime.
• During the recent stretch, the Friars fell to New Hampshire (4-3, OT), BIG EAST foe Old Dominion (2-0) and American (2-1, OT).
• Providence started the season 4-0 for the first time since 2006.

Carly van Benten leads the team in points (10) and assists (six). She also has scored two goals. Each of her offensive totals mark single-season career highs.
• Van Benten ranks third in the BIG EAST and 19
th in the nation in assists per game (0.86). She also ranks eight in the BIG EAST in points per game (1.43).
• Nine different players have scored at least one goal this season through seven games, including five multi-goal scorers. Junior

Lily Procaccianti ranks fourth on the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and one assist. Her three goals rank third on the team.
• A handful of players have recorded their first career points this season, including

Ava Porter has started all seven games in the cage for Providence. She owns a 4-3 record (0-1 BIG EAST) and has compiled a 1.51 goals against average and a 0.756 save percentage. She has one shutout on the season (4-0 vs. Bryant).
• Porter ranks first in the BIG EAST and 18
th in the nation in save percentage (0.794). Porter ranks second in the BIG EAST in saves per game (4.86).
• Providence leads the BIG EAST and ranks 10
th in the nation in penalty corners, averaging 8.00 per game.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN (2-5, 0-1 BIG EAST):
• Georgetown enters the weekend with a 2-5 overall record, including a 0-1 mark in the BIG EAST.
• The Hoyas are in the midst of a three-game winless streak. Two of their three losses during the span were decided by one goal. Georgetown fell to Richmond (2-1), VCU (2-0) and BIG EAST foe Temple (2-1).
• Sydney Yodh leads the offense with eight points on three goals and two assists.
• Izzy Lee is second on the team in scoring with seven points on three goals and one assist.
• Yodh and Lee have combined to score six of the Hoyas' 11 total goals this season.
• Two goalkeepers have each played 200+ minutes in the cage this season. Ella Fahey has started all seven games (226 minutes) and owns a 1.33 goals against average and a 0.750 save percentage. Alex Duff has played 210 minutes and owns a 2.57 goals against average and a 0.679 save percentage.
• In the Hoyas' lone BIG EAST game against Temple, Georgetown outshot the Owls 12-11, including a 9-6 edge in shots on goal. Temple led in penalty corners, 11-9. Izzy Lee scored 7:58 into the contest to give Georgetown a 1-0 lead, but Temple responded with two goals at 17:26 and 31:43 to claim the victory.
• Sisters
Caroline Krebs (Sr., D, Providence) and Anna Krebs (So., D, Georgetown) will take the field against each other on Friday.
Caroline Krebs is in her fourth and final season with the Friars as a midfielder/defender. This season, she has started all seven games and has scored one goal. In Anna Krebs' first season at Georgetown she has played five games with one appearance in the starting line-up.
SCOUTING HOFSTRA (5-2)
• Hofstra enters the weekend with a 5-2 overall record and will face Drexel in Colonial Athletic Association play on Friday, Sept. 26 before making its way to Providence.
• Six of the Pride's seven games have been decided by one goal and they are 4-2 in those matches.
• The Pride have won two-straight games heading into the weekend, including victories over Villanova (2-1, OT) and UC Davis (2-1).
• Teresa Karoff leads the offense with nine points on four goals and one assist. Three of her four goals have come off penalty stroke opportunities. She is 3-4 from the stroke mark this season.
• Gwenn van Dijk and Jaime Lewis are tied for second in scoring. Van Dijk has recorded two goals and two assists, while Lewis has recorded three goals.
• Luci Hollister has played the majority of minutes in goal for Hofstra. She owns a 1.37 goals against average and a 0.804 save percentage.
• Tessa Lambright played all 60 minutes in goal during the Pride's most recent game against UC Davis. She faced three shots (two on goal) and recorded one save and one goal against.
WHAT'S NEXT:
• Providence will hit the road for back-to-back games next weekend. On Friday, Oct. 3, the Friars will travel to Storrs, Conn. to take on UConn at 3:00 p.m. On Sunday, Oct. 5, Providence will travel to Burlington, Vt. to face Vermont in non-conference action.
