Ryan Bell Named To The 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List

Bell was one of 50 men’s players to be named to the watch list on Feb. 6.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College senior Ryan Bell (Smithtown, N.Y.) has been named to the 2025 Tewaaraton Watch List. The Tewaaraton Foundation announced its first round of additions on February 6. Bell is the third Providence College player to be named to the Tewaaraton Watch List. He was named to the list last season and joins former Friar goaltenders Toby Burgdorf '21 and Tate Boyce '19.
 
The Tewaaraton Award annually honors the top male and female college lacrosse players in the United States. The selection committees are comprised of premier college coaches and are appointed annually by the Tewaaraton Foundation. The Tewaaraton Award winner will be announced on May 29.

Bell, as a junior, led the Friars in scoring with 66 points on 21 goals and a team-best 45 assists. Bell set the program's single-season points record (66) and assists record (45) in 2024. He finished the regular season ranked third among NCAA Division I players in assists per game, averaging 3.00. He was named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Year, All-BIG EAST First Team, NEILA All-New England Second Team, USA Lacrosse Magazine Honorable Mention All-American and USILA Honorable Mention All-American. Bell ranks fourth in scoring all-time scoring (178) at Providence and leads the Friars in all-time assists (127). Additionally, Bell was named to the USA Lacrosse Preseason All-American Third Team for the upcoming season. In the Friars' first game of the 2025 season, Bell recorded a career-high eight assists and was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll (Feb. 3). 
 
The Friars return to action on Saturday, February 8 against Bryant. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m. in Smithfield, R.I.
