Women’s Golf Ready For Le Moyne College Lady Dolphin Invitational

The two-day, 36-hole tournament will be held at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's golf team returns to action on Monday, Oct. 20 and Tuesday, Oct. 21 at Bellevue Country Club in Syracuse, N.Y.

Play begins Monday morning with round one. The second and final round will be played Tuesday. The field includes 11 other schools: Fairfield University, Delaware State University, SUNY Cortland, Siena University, University at Albany, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, Bryant University, Bethune-Cookman University, Le Moyne College, College of the Holy Cross and Manhattan College.
 
Bellevue Country Club, designed by Donald J. Ross, opened in 1916 with nine holes designed by Ross and turned into 18 holes four years later. Measuring nearly 6,600 yards from the tips, the course is a par 71.
 
Last weekend, Providence finished the two-day Quinnipiac Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. The Friars finished 11th with a score of 687 (+111). Sophomore Gwendolyn Yarnall (East Aurora, N.Y.) led Providence, tying for 27th place overall with a two-round total of 161 (+17).
 
The Friars competed in the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. on Tuesday, Sept. 30. The Friars finished 15th and sophomore Yarnall led the way for Providence, tying for 17th place overall at 237 (+21), the first top-20 finish for an individual Friar this season.
 
The Friars opened the season with the first ever women's golf tournament in Providence College history at the two-day Boston College Red Bandanna Invitational at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. The Friars finished 14th in the 15-team field with a score of 1,016 (+152). Yarnall led Providence, tying for 40th overall at 237 (+21).

The Friars will finish the fall schedule next Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26 at the Lehigh Invitational at Trump National Golf Course in Bedminister, N.J.
