Volleyball Set To Host Villanova and Georgetown

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College volleyball team is home this weekend at Alumni Hall in Providence, R.I. for BIG EAST action. The Friars will take on Villanova on Friday, Oct. 17 at 5:00 p.m. and Georgetown on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 4:00 p.m.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS… The Friars enter the weekend with a 10-9 record and 1-5 mark in the BIG EAST. Most recently, the Friars were defeated by Butler (3-0) and Xavier (3-0).

As a team, Providence averages 2.13 aces per set, which ranks eighth in NCAA Division I.

Sophomore Sophia Adkins (Cincinnati, Ohio) leads the Friars' offense with 254 kills. She ranks fifth in the BIG EAST with an average of 3.74 kills per set.

Junior Lyric Berry (Wylie, Texas) leads Providence with 93 blocks and averages 1.37 per set, which ranks first in the BIG EAST.

Redshirt senior Hadley Pride (Nashville, Tenn.) was named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll. She averages 5.59 digs per set, which ranks first in the BIG EAST and second in NCAA Division I. Pride has recorded 380 digs.

Sophomore Audrey Kocon (Shoreview, Minn.) ranks second in the BIG EAST in aces per set, averaging 0.51. She has recorded 119 kills, 256 assists, 31 aces, 142 digs and 44 blocks.

SCOUTING VILLANOVA… The Wildcats enter the weekend with a 13-4 record and are 4-2 in the BIG EAST. Most recently, the Wildcats defeated Georgetown (3-1) and fell to Creighton (3-0).

Junior Abby Harrell leads the team in kills, with 249. She ranks fourth in the BIG EAST with an average of 3.77 kills per set.

Sophomore Alyssa Nelson ranks ninth in the BIG EAST with 5.85 assists per set. She has recorded 386 assists.

Harrell leads the Wildcats' defense with 182 digs.

Sophomore Campbell McKinnon ranks second in the BIG EAST with a .409 hitting percentage.

SCOUTING GEORGETOWN… The Hoyas enter the weekend with a 10-9 record and 3-3 mark in the BIG EAST. Most recently, Georgetown fell to Villanova (3-1) and Creighton (3-0).

Sophomore Dionna Mitchell leads the team in kills (235) and digs (172).

Sophomore Juleigh Urbina has recorded a team-high 466 assists and ranks seventh in the BIG EAST, averaging 6.13 assists per set.

Junior Kamryn Lee-Caracci ranks sixth in the BIG EAST with a .366 hitting percentage.
