WALLINGFORD, Conn. – The Providence College women's golf team finished the two-day Quinnipiac Classic on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn. The Friars finished 11th with a score of 687 (+111). Sophomore
Gwendolyn Yarnall (East Aurora, N.Y.) led Providence, tying for 27th place overall with a two-round total of 161 (+17).
Quinnipiac captured the team title with a score of 608 (+32) over two rounds. Providence carded a 348 in the opening round and a 339 in the final round. Harvard's Vanessa Zhang took the individual title, shooting a 143 (-1) over two rounds. The event was originally scheduled for three rounds, but the opening round was halted due to weather.
Yarnall posted rounds of 78 and 83 for her 160 (+17). Freshman
Samantha Dunn (Berlin, Conn.) led the Friars with three birdies.
