PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's golf team returns to action on Monday, Oct. 13 and Tuesday, Oct. 14 at the Quinnipiac Classic at The Farms Country Club in Wallingford, Conn.

Play begins Monday morning with rounds one and two in a shotgun format. The third and final round will be played Tuesday. The field includes nine other schools: Fairfield University, University of New Haven, Boston College, Monmouth University, Harvard University, Sacred Heart University, Bryant University, Quinnipiac University and Lehigh University.
The Farms Country Club Golf Course was designed by Geoffrey Cornish in 1960. Home to the 1998 U.S. Open Regional Qualifier and the 2009 U.S. Junior Amateur Regional Qualifier, the par 72 course ranges 5,555 yards.
The Friars last competed on Tuesday, Sept. 30 at the Sacred Heart Fall Classic at Great River Golf Club in Milford, Conn. The Friars finished 15th and sophomore Gwendolyn Yarnall (East Aurora, N.Y.) led the way for Providence, tying for 17th place overall at 237 (+21), the first top-20 finish for an individual Friar this season.
The Friars opened the season with the first ever women's golf tournament in Providence College history at the two-day Boston College Red Bandanna Invitational at Blue Hill Country Club in Canton, Mass. The Friars finished 14th in the 15-team field with a score of 1,016 (+152). Yarnall led Providence, tying for 40th overall at 237 (+21).
