LOWELL, Mass. – The No. 7/6 Providence College men's ice hockey team battled to a 3-3 tie at No. 12/13 UMass Lowell on Friday (Jan. 24) at Tsongas Center. The River Hawks earned the extra point in the Hockey East standings with a 1-0 win in the shootout.

NOTES

- Tanner Adams got the Friars rolling with his 10th goal of the season just 3:42 into the game. Andrew Centrella and Logan Will earned the assists on the play.

- Will connected at the 8:10 mark, after winning the faceoff and finishing off a John Mustard rebound at the top of the crease.

- The River Hawks countered with two goals in the span of 12 seconds from Pierson Brandon and Lee Parks at 11:10 and 11:22, respectively.

- Aleksi Kivioja netted his second goal of the season at 3:05 of the second period, converting on a centering pass from Braiden Clark.

- Chris Delaney knotted the game at 3-3 on the power play just three minutes later.

- After a scoreless third period, the teams went to overtime tied at 3-3. The Friars couldn't convert on a power-play opportunity in overtime as the game advanced to a shootout.

- Dillan Bentley scored in the first round of the shootout for the River Hawks while Halasz stopped all three Providence attempts.

- The Friars went to overtime for the eighth time this season (4-1-3).

- Adams becomes the first Friar this season to hit the double-digit mark in goals with 10.
