PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Providence College women's soccer sophomore
Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Ont.) was named to the Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Team. The BIG EAST released its 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll and preseason honors today (Aug. 13).
Briggs, who earned All-BIG East Second Team honors as a freshman in 2023, appeared in 12 games for the Friars. She finished fourth on the team in points with nine on two goals and five assists. Briggs was named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week twice and earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll once during the regular season.
The Friars, coming off their second NCAA Tournament appearance in three seasons under the guidance of Head Coach
Sam Lopes, were picked to finish fifth in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Providence College will open the 2024 regular season on Thursday (Aug. 15), hosting the University of Rhode Island on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium beginning at 6:30 p.m.
