PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The No. 10 Providence College men's hockey team was edged by UConn, 2-1, on Saturday (Feb. 3) at Schneider Arena.

NOTES

- The Huskies struck first late in the first period, as forward Jake Richard found the back of the net on a power-play goal, giving Connecticut the 1-0 lead. Andrew Lucas and Hudson Schandor found Richard for the special teams goal.

- The Huskies tacked on their second of the night late in the middle frame, as Chase Bradley pocketed the puck in the top right corner, giving UConn the 2-0 advantage. Hudson Schandor found Bradley on the goal for his second assist of the night.

- The Friars got their first goal of the night early in the third period, as Bennett Schimek potted a 5-on-3 opportunity with UConn's Haider pulled out of position. Nick Poisson and Luke Krys found Schimek for the goal.

- Both defenses stood tall the rest of the way, resulting in a final 2-1 score in favor of UConn.

- The Friars dominated in shots on goal, outshooting the Huskies 43-19. Chase Yoder headlined the shot chart with nine pucks directed on net, followed by Riley Duran with seven attempts and Luke Krys with four. Fifteen different Friars recorded a shot on net, including 11 players with multiple shots on goal.

- Luke Krys paced the Friars in shots blocked with three, followed by another three players with a pair of blocks. Thirteen different players finished the game with a block.

- Philip Svedebäck finished the night denying 17-of-19 shots for an .895 save percentage.
