Last Time Out…
- The Friars return to action following a two point weekend against No. 3 Boston University that saw Providence tie the first matchup 2-2 on Friday, Feb. 16 before falling 5-2 on Saturday, Feb. 17.
- On Friday, Riley Duran got the Friars on the board early in the first period, deflecting a Guillaume Richard slapshot into the back of the net for the 1-0 advantage.
- Boston University tied it late in the first period, by way of a shorthanded breakaway opportunity from Nick Zabaneh.
- The Terriers took their first lead of the night midway through the second period, with a goal from Sam Stevens putting BU ahead 2-1.
- Tanner Adams got the equalizer for the Friars just over three minutes later while on the power-play, deadlocking the game at 2-2.
- Neither team broke through offensively in the third period or overtime, leading to the 2-2 tie.
- Providence won the shootout 1-0 off a five-hole goal from Hudson Malinoski to secure the extra point in the Hockey East standings.
- On Saturday, it was Jamie Engelbert who got the Friars on the board early in the first period, popping a rebound into the back of the net to give Providence the 1-0 advantage.
- Midway through the first frame Boston University's Nick Zabaneh found the score sheet while on a breakaway opportunity, knotting it up at 1-1 for the Terriers.
- The Terriers took the lead late in the first period on the power-play, with a goal from Tom Willander setting the score at 2-1.
- Lane Hutson extended the lead for the Terriers at 15:26 in the second period, putting BU ahead 3-1.
- Boston University found the back of the net early in the third period, with a Shane LaChance goal giving the Terriers the 4-1 advantage.
- Craig Needham netted one for the Friars just under two minutes later, pulling the Friars within a pair of scores in the third period.
- Shane LaChance buried his second goal of the game 1:45 later to pull the game to the final 5-2 score.

Max Crozier Makes NHL Debut
- Former Friar captain Max Crozier made his NHL Debut on Jan. 13 for the Tampa Bay Lightning, becoming the 46th Friar to appear in an NHL game. In seven games with Tampa, he has posted two assists and a +1 rating while averaging 14:30 in ice time.
 
Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 395 career victories as a Division I head coach.
 
McDonald Sets Program Record
Captain Cam McDonald appeared in his 157th career game on Feb. 17 at Boston University, setting the program record for games played. McDonald passed Ross Mauermann '15 and Brian Pinho '18 who previously held the record of 156.

Through 29 games played, Nick Poisson (7-14-21), Tanner Adams (6-12-18) and Chase Yoder (9-8-17) pace the Friars in points this season. Twenty-two Friars have tallied a point this season, including 14 players with at least 10 points.

Scouting the River Hawks…
- UMass-Lowell (8-18-4, 4-12-3 HEA) enters their matchup with No.12/11 Providence following a weekend split with Northeastern that saw the River Hawks emerge victorious on Friday (Feb. 16) in a 4-2 win before falling on Saturday (Feb. 17) in a 4-0 shutout loss.
- Through 30 games this season, forward Owen Cole (10-7-17) paces the River Hawks in goals with 10, followed by Nick Rhéaume (9-4-13) with nine and both Scout Truman (7-14-21) and Matt Crasa (7-5-12) with seven each. Series History vs. UMass Lowell
This weekend's game with UMass-Lowell marks the final meeting between the Friars and River Hawks in the 2023-24 season. The Friars last met the River Hawks earlier this season on Jan. 26-27, 2024 where Providence emerged victorious in both showings, taking the first game in a 7-2 fashion before coming from behind to take the second game 4-3 in overtime. The Friars are 6-4-0 in their last ten meetings with the River Hawks.
