BOSTON, Mass. – The No. 10/11 Providence College men's hockey team was defeated by No. 3 Boston University, 5-2, on Saturday (Feb. 17) at Agganis Arena.

NOTES

- Providence on the board just 2:36 into the game as Jamie Engelbert slide a rebound past Caron for his seventh of the season. Brady Berard earned the assist on the play.

- BU countered with a pair of goals over the final half of the opening period. Nick Zabaneh beat Svedebäck on a breakaway at the 13:00 mark.

- Tom Willander fired a point shot through a screen and into the back of the net with four seconds remaining on a Terrier power play at 18:18.

- The Terriers extended their lead at 15:26 of the second period on a Lane Hutson goal.

- Shane Lachance added more insurance with a marker at 2:51 of the third period.

- Craig Needham brought the Friars back within two with 5:38 to play on his fourth goal of the season. Liam Valente earned the assist.

- Lachance responded just 1:45 to regain the three-goal lead for the Terriers at 5-2.

- Cam McDonald set the program record for games played with his 157th appearance on Saturday night, passing Ross Mauermann '15 and Brian Pinho '18.
