Last Time Out…
- Austen May registered three points, including the game-winning goal in overtime as the No. 10/11 Providence College men's hockey team rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat UMass Lowell, 4-3, on Saturday (Jan. 27) at Schneider Arena. The program earned it's 1,100th win on Saturday, becoming the fourth Hockey East program to hit the mark.
- The Friars struck first late in the first period, as forward Riley Duran netted his seventh goal of the season, giving Providence the 1-0 lead on the power-play. Austen May and Nick Poisson provided support on the goal.
- The River Hawks found the tying goal midway through the second period, as forward Owen Cole netted the power-play opportunity, deadlocking the score 1-1. Mitchell Becker and Jaiden Moriello assisted on the goal.
- Just over two minutes later, Lowell forward Roc Truman netted his first of the season to give the River Hawks the 2-1 lead. Isac Jonsson and Filip Fornåå Svensson tallied assists on the goal.
- With just under three minutes to go in the second, Fornåå Svensson found the back of the net, extending the River Hawks' lead to 3-1. Jak Vaarwerk and Ben Meehan found him to make the play.
- With 12 seconds to go in the second period, Cam McDonald fired a shot from the blue-line, beating Luke Pavicich low glove-side to pull the Friars within a score. Riley Duran and Austen May assisted on the goal.
- With just under five minutes to go in the third period, Graham Gamache and Craig Needham found Tanner Adams for his fifth goal of the season, tying the game at 3-3.
- With 43.3 seconds remaining in the overtime period, May buried the game-winner with a wrist shot over the glove of Pavicich.
- Chase Yoder led the way at the faceoff dot with an 18-of-22 performance.
 
Fifteen Current, Former and Future Friars Appear in NHL Development Camps
The Friars boasted 15 past, present and future players that appeared in NHL Development Camps back in July. Max Crozier Makes NHL Debut
- Former Friar captain Max Crozier made his NHL Debut on Jan. 13 for the Tampa Bay Lightning, becoming the 46th Friar to appear in an NHL game. In seven games with Tampa, he has posted two assists and a +1 rating while averaging 14:30 in ice time.
 
Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 393 career victories as a Division I head coach.
 
May Named Hockey East Defender of the Week
Providence College men's hockey sophomore defenseman Austen May (Woodhaven, Mich.) was named Army ROTC Hockey East Defender of the Week on Monday, January 29 after posting five points on two goals and three assists against UMass Lowell last weekend.
 
Program Hits 1,100 Wins All-Time
The program registered it's 1,100th win all-time on Saturday night, becoming the fourth member of Hockey East to reach that benchmark.
 
Stock Watch
Through 23 games played, Nick Poisson (7-12-19), Chase Yoder (9-6-15), and Tanner Adams (5-10-15) pace the Friars in points this season. Twenty Friars have tallied a point this season, including eleven players with at least 10 points.

Scouting the Huskies…
- UConn (11-12-2, 6-8-1 HEA) enters their matchup with Providence following a pair of games in the CT Ice Tournament where the Huskies were victorious over Sacred Heart in a 6-2 fashion on Friday (Jan. 26) before falling to No. 7 Quinnipiac 4-3 on Saturday (Jan. 27).
- Through 25 games this season, forward Chase Bradley (10-11-21) paces the Huskies in goals at ten, followed by Matthew Wood (8-8-16) with eight, and Jake Percival (7-5-12) with seven. Seventeen Huskies have found the back of the net this season, including fourteen players with multiple goals.

Series History vs. UConn (PC leads 14-5-5, .688)
This weekend's games with UConn mark the first meeting between the Friars and Huskies on the 2023-24 season. Providence last met the Huskies on Nov. 11-12, 2022, where the two teams skated to a pair of ties. UConn picked up the shootout wins in each draw. The Friars were last victorious over the Huskies on Nov. 13, 2021 in a 6-4 home victory.
