Last Time Out vs. Boston College
- The No. 10/11 Providence College men's ice hockey team fell to No. 3 Boston College 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday, November 19 at Schneider Arena.
- Boston College opened the scoring just 54 seconds into the first period, as Gabe Perrault got behind the defense before pocketing the puck through Svedebäck's five-hole, putting the Eagles ahead 1-0.
- Providence found the equalizer 27 seconds into the second period when Clint Levens put away an Austen May rebound in the slot for his second of the year. Taige Harding set up the play on a bank pass around the half-wall, earning the secondary assist.
- The Friars jumped out to their first lead of the night just over two and a half minutes later, as Ryan O'Reilly forced a turnover before driving to the net, beating Korec low glove-side to make it 2-1.
- The Eagles tied it up with just over four minutes to play in the third period, as Gabe Perrault found Ryan Leonard for a tap-in goal, capitalizing on the extra attacker opportunity on a delayed penalty and knotting the game at 2-2.
- Neither team could crack the tie in the waning minutes of the third period, sending the game to overtime. Through regulation, the Eagles outshot Providence 34-23.
- With 48 seconds to play in the overtime period, Leonard shoveled a loose puck underneath Svedebäck, giving Boston College the 3-2 win.
- The Eagles outpaced the Friars on the shot chart, finishing with 39 shots on net to Providence's 26. John Mustard paced the shots on net for the Friars with four, followed by a three-shot showing from Hudson Malinoski.
- With his goal tonight, Ryan O'Reilly now has a team-high five goals on the season alongside Tanner Adams and Will Elger.
- Philip Svedebäck finished the night stopping 36 shots, good for a .923 save percentage.

Scouting the Sharks:
- Long Island University (4-4-1) enters their Saturday night matchup with the Friars following a weekend sweep on the road over Stonehill that saw the Sharks win Friday (Nov. 15) in a 5-1 contest before emerging victorious Saturday (Nov. 16) in a 4-2 affair.
- Through nine games this season, forward Riley Wallack (5-3-8) leads the Sharks in goals with five, followed by four from Carter Rapalje (4-3-7) and three from Isaac Lambert (3-0-3) and Onni Leppänen (3-2-5).
- Freshman forward Luca Leighton (1-4-5) paces Long Island in assists with four on the year, followed by three assists from six different players, including Wallack and Rapalje.
- Alongside goals, Wallack also headlines the team's point total with eight, followed by seven from Rapalje and five from both Leighton and Leppänen. This season, 22 different Sharks have tallied a point.
- This season, the Sharks have split time in net between sophomore Noah Rupprecht and freshman Daniel Duris. In five games, Rupprecht has led Long Island to a 3-2-0 record to the tune of a 3.02 goals against average and a .882 save percentage. Through four games, Duris has guided the Sharks to a 1-2-1 record while allowing a 2.22 goals against average and .912 save percentage.
- This season, Long Island has boasted one of the most efficient power-play units, converting on 26.5% of opportunities this season. The Sharks' special teams unit ranks fifth-best nationally, trailing only Dartmouth (41.2%), UMass-Lowell (39.3%), Denver (34.6%), and North Dakota (28.6%).

Eight Former Friars Earn Spots On NHL Opening Night Rosters
The Friars boasted eight alums that appeared on NHL opening night rosters - Noel Acciari (PIT), Jacob Bryson (BUF), Vincent Desharnais (VAN), Brandon Duhaime (WSH), Mark Jankowski (NSH), Kevin Rooney (CGY), Brandon Tanev (SEA) and Jake Walman (SJ).
 
Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, 2023, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. On October 25, Leaman hit 400 career wins as a Division I head coach in Providence's 3-2 overtime win at Vermont. Leaman is the only Hockey East coach to post a winning record in each of the last 12 seasons.
 
Leading the Pack:
Through 12 games this season, Tanner Adams (5-4-9), Will Elger (5-3-8), and Ryan O'Reilly (5-2-7) all pace the Friars with five scores each, followed by four from Logan Will (4-5-9). Andrew Centrella (1-7-8) leads the Friars in assists this season with seven, followed by Austen May (0-6-6) with six and five assists from six different players. Adams and Will lead the team in total points this season with nine each, followed by eight points from Elger and Centrella.
 
King of the Hill
Through nine conference matchups, Providence (7-3-2, 5-2-2 HEA) sits in first place in the Hockey East standings with 17 points registered. Rounding out the top five include Maine (7-2-2, 4-2-2 HEA) in second with 15 points, UMass-Lowell (8-2-0, 4-1-0 HEA) in third with 12 points, and both UConn (6-5-1, 3-4-1 HEA) and Vermont (2-6-3, 2-4-2 HEA) tied in fourth place with 10 points each.
 
Poisson Among Active Leaders
With an assist on Nov. 1 against New Hampshire, graduate student Nick Poisson sits one point shy of the century mark in career scoring with 99 points. He aims to become the 55th member of the program to reach the 100-point milestone.
 
Quality Check
Tuesday's matchup with No. 3 Boston College marked the Friars' fourth meeting with a ranked opponent this season, having previously split with RV/No. 20 Massachusetts following a season-opening loss to No. 6 North Dakota. This season, the Friars are 1-3-0 in ranked matchups, including a 1-2-0 record in Hockey East action.
