PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's ice hockey team skated to a scoreless tie (0-0) against Vermont in Hockey East play on Nov. 16 at Schneider Arena in Providence, R.I. It marked the first scoreless tie for the Friars since Feb. 8, 2012 vs. Northeastern.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
• The Friars held a 53-36 advantage in shots, including a 29-20 edge in shots on goal through three scoreless periods. The teams finished regulation deadlocked at 0-0. 
• After a scoreless five-minute overtime, the game ended in a 0-0 tie.
• Vermont earned the extra point with a 1-0 edge in the shootout (three rounds). 
• Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) attempted a team-high 11 shots and put seven of them on target, including one shot (one shot on goal) during overtime.
• The last time Providence College competed in a scoreless tie dates back to Feb. 8, 2012 vs. Northeastern. 
• Providence and Vermont went to overtime for the second-consecutive game. On Nov. 15, the Friars and Catamounts skated to a 1-1 tie. Providence won the ensuing shootout, 2-1, to claim the extra point in Hockey East play. Both games were played at Schneider Arena.
• The Friars have played three overtime games this season and have posted a 1-0-2 record.
• Goaltender Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded 20 saves in net for Providence College, while her counterpart from UVM was credited with 30 saves.
• Walinski recorded her second shutout of the season and the Friars have held three opponents scoreless through 14 games overall.
