Women’s Hockey Skates to 2-2 Tie With Harvard

Mégane Quirion picked up two assists in the contest.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass.– Mégane Quirion (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) provided two assists and Reichen Kirchmair (Oakville, Ontario) scored the shootout winner as the Providence College women's hockey team skated to a 2-2 tie against Harvard on Friday, Nov. 22, at Bright-Landry Hockey Center in Cambridge, Mass. Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) recorded 25 saves and stopped all three attempts in the shootout.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
 
-Sarah Davies (Mississauga, Ontario) opened the scoring at 11:03 of the first period, jamming in her fifth goal of the season. Mégane Quirion (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) and Peyton Blaney (Millgrove, Ontario) earned the assists, marking Quirion's first point of the season.
 
-Jessie Pellerin (Bowmanville, Ontario) doubled the lead with 59 seconds left in the first period, finishing a feed from Quirion for her second assist of the night. Brooke Becker (Orchard Park, N.Y.) added a secondary assist.
 
-The score remained 2-0 Friars after the second period.
 
-Maria Pape cut the deficit to 2-1 for Harvard, scoring with the extra attacker on the ice and 1:28 left in regulation. Paige Lester and Brooke Manning earned the assists.
 
- With 29 seconds left in the third period, the Crimson tied the game 2-2 with a six-on-five goal. Kaley MacDonald scored, assisted by Antonina and Brooke Manning.
 
-Neither team could find a goal in overtime resulting in a 2-2 tie.
 
-Reichen Kirchmair secured the shootout victory with the game-winning goal, while Hope Walinski (Lincoln, R.I.) stopped all three Crimson attempts.
 
-Walinski recorded 25 saves in the game.
 
-The Friars last had three consecutive ties during the 2009-2010 season (1-1 at UConn, 2-2 at Maine, and 1-1 vs. Northeastern).
 
-The Crimson extended their unbeaten streak against Providence to 12 games (10-0-2).
 
-With the tie, Providence improves 3-1-1 in non-league play this season.
