PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's soccer team (9-4-3, 4-1-2 BIG EAST) will host the defending BIG EAST Champions, Xavier (4-7-5, 1-4-2 BIG EAST) in a senior day, inter-BIG EAST division matchup on Saturday, Nov. 2 on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. Kick-off is slated for 2:00 p.m. and will stream on the BIG EAST Digital Network.

The Friars last faced the Musketeers in regular season play in 2022 which ended in a 0-0 tie against No. 19 Xavier in Cincinnati, Ohio.
SCOUTING THE FRIARS (9-4-3, 4-1-2 BIG EAST)
The Friars enter the game with a 9-4-3 overall record including a 4-1-2 mark in BIG EAST play. Providence finished with two road wins last week after defeating UConn, 2-1, on Oct. 23 and besting Villanova, 1-0, on Oct. 26. Providence is currently second in the BIG EAST East Division.
Following the two wins last week, the Friars clinched a top-four seed in the 2024 BIG EAST Tournament. Providence has now qualified for 24 BIG EAST tournaments all-time and for the fourth-consecutive year.
Junior
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal), leads Providence in points (12), goals (four) and assists (four).
Aidan Davock (Medway, Mass.) is tied with Rosa for the team lead in goals. Davock scored the deciding goal in the final 10 minutes of regulation during the team's victory over UConn and is currently on a three-game scoring streak, with one goal in each of his last three matches.
Graduate student
Israel Neto (Salvador, Brazil) scored his first two goals for the Friars last week after he scored the opening goal against UConn and the game-winner against Villanova. His performance earned him a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct. 28.
Freshman
Vasco Teixeira (Arrentela, Portugal) has started in all 16 games for Providence this season. Last week, the rookie recorded an assist in each of the two games played, including the game-winning assist against UConn. His efforts earned him BIG EAST Freshman of the Week on Oct. 28.
Goalkeeper
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) has appeared in all 16 games for the Friars. Burns has posted a 0.738 save percentage and a 1.01 goals-against average, along with five shutouts this season. Earlier this season, he was named the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year.

SCOUTING THE MUSKETEERS (4-7-5, 1-4-2 BIG EAST)
Xavier enters the week with a 4-7-5 overall record including a 1-4-2 record in BIG EAST action. The Musketeers suffered two losses last week after falling, 5-1, at Butler on Oct. 23 and, 1-0, to Seton Hall on Oct. 26. Xavier is currently ranked fifth in the BIG EAST Midwest Division. For Xavier to secure a BIG EAST Tournament berth by qualifying as the eighth seed, they must win at Providence, while Marquette and DePaul must either lose or tie.
Junior defender Matthew Senanou, leads the Musketeers' offense with six points after scoring three goals earlier this season. Senanou has started all 15 games that he has appeared in this season.
Senior defender Michael Rogalski holds a team-best three assists on the season. Rogalski registered a season-high two assists in the team's 4-1 win over Cal State Fullerton on Aug. 25.
Junior Johnny Mennell has had a standout season in goal for the Musketeers. Mennell is second in the BIG EAST with seven shutouts so far this season. Mennell currently holds a .696 saves percentage and a 1.07 goals against average having conceded only 17 goals on the season. He has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll four times this year.

The Friars will host the fifth, sixth, or seventh seed in a BIG EAST Quarterfinal match on Saturday, Nov. 9. The game is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I., and will be streamed on the BIG EAST Network.
Last season, the No. 3-seed Friars hosted the No. 6-seed Creighton, in a BIG EAST Quarterfinal match on Chapey Field, where they defeated the Bluejays 3-1 to advance to the BIG EAST Semifinals.
