PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's soccer team (6-2-2, 1-0-1 BIG EAST) will compete in back-to-back matches against the Georgetown Hoyas (4-3-3, 1-1-0 BIG EAST) and the Syracuse Orange (4-3-3, 0-2-2 ACC). The Friars will travel to Washington, D.C., to face the Hoyas on Oct. 4 at 3:00 p.m. The game will be streamed on the BIG EAST Digital Network. Providence will then return home to wrap up non-conference play against Syracuse on Oct. 8 at 7:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The game will be streamed on FloSports.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS
The No. 21 Friars enter the week with a 6-2-2 overall record including a 1-0-1 mark in BIG EAST play. Providence came away with a win and a draw last week, defeating Brown 2-1 on Sept. 24 and securing a last-second 2-2 draw against Creighton on Sept. 28.
PC enters the game ranked No. 21 in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 poll, which was released on Oct. 1. This marked the team's second consecutive week in the Top 25.
Junior
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Sept. 30 after finishing with five points across the Friars' two games last week. Rosa tallied an assist in the opening 10 minutes of the match against Brown. He then delivered a crucial performance against Creighton, scoring the two goals including a last-second equalizer to secure a comeback draw for the Friars. With his two goals, Rosa moved past
Pepe Lora (Madrid, Spain) to become the team's leading scorer with 11 points.
Goalkeeper
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) has appeared in all 10 games for the Friars. Burns currently boasts a 0.743 save percentage and a 0.90 goals against average. Burns was deemed the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year earlier this season.
All 13 Friar goals this season have come from transfer students.

The Hoyas enter series play with a 4-3-3 overall record including 1-1-0 mark in BIG EAST play. Georgetown is coming off a 2-0 win against Princeton on Sept. 24 and a 1-0 loss versus Akron on Sept. 28.
Freshman Mitchell Baker leads the Hoya offense with nine points on four goals and one assist. Sophomore Eric Howard boasts a team-best three assists.
Junior Tenzing Manske has appeared in eight of the team's 10 games this season. He has allowed six goals, posting a 0.775 goals against average and a 0.778 save percentage.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE (4-4-3, 0-2-2 ACC)
Syracuse begins the week with a 4-4-3 overall record, including a 0-2-2 mark in ACC action. The team most recently defeated UAlbany, 3-1, on Oct. 1 - a victory that ended a two-game losing streak for the Orange. Before facing off with the Friars, the Orange will play Notre Dame in an ACC matchup on Oct. 5.
Daniel Burko and Gabe Threadgold co-lead with the Orange offense with six points apiece. Burko currently holds a team-high three goals while Threadgold boasts two goals and two assists.
Thomas Hut has started in all 11 games for the Orange. He owns 31 saves, a 1.05 goals against average and a 0.738 save percentage.

The Friars will head to Milwaukee, Wis., to play the Marquette Golden Eagles (6-3-1, 2-0-0 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Oct. 12. The match will begin at 2:00 p.m. (ET) and stream on FloSports.
The Friars hold a 10-4-4 all-time series advantage over the Golden Eagles. The last meeting between the two teams occurred during the 2022 season where Providence tied Marquette, 3-3, on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. The last time the Friars played Marquette on its home turf was in 2021 which ended in a 2-2 draw.
