• The first half was a hard-fought contest with both teams limited to just one shot on goal.
•With 33 minutes remaining (57:29),
Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal) created a goal scoring opportunity when he received a through ball and faced the UConn goalkeeper one-on-one who denied him with a diving save.
• The Friars maintained their offensive pressure and were rewarded in the 67th minute (67:38) after Neto capitalized with a one-touch strike from the top of the box following a cross from
Bernardo Prego (Évora, Portugal).
•The Huskies countered four minutes later (71:23) with a goal of their own to even the score at one.
• In the 80th minute (80:34), Davock scored the deciding goal with a volley to the back of the net. It marked his third goal in as many games.
•Connecticut almost tied the game with a shot that deflected off the far post. However, the Friars were able to clear the ball to secure a 2-1 victory over the Huskies.
• Providence outshot Connecticut, 14-11.
