PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The Providence College men's soccer team (7-4-3, 2-1-2 BIG EAST) will play two road games this week. Providence will take on the University of Connecticut Huskies (8-2-4, 3-1-1 BIG EAST) on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at 7:00 p.m. in Storrs, Conn. The Friars then will play at Villanova (1-8-4, 0-5 BIG EAST) on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 12:00 p.m. in Villanova, Pa. Both games will stream on FloSports.

The Friars enter the week with a 7-4-3 overall record including a 2-1-2 mark in BIG EAST play. Providence is coming off a 1-1 draw against St. John's on Oct. 19.

Bruno Rosa (Cascais, Portugal), leads Providence in points (12), goals (four) and assists (four).
Aidan Davock (Medway, Mass.) moved into second place on the team in points after scoring the Friars' lone goal in the draw against the Red Storm. Davock currently has seven points, with three goals and one assist.
Goalkeeper
Lukas Burns (Cinnaminson, N.J.) has appeared in all 14 games for the Friars. He currently boasts a 0.732 save percentage and a 1.09 goals against average. Burns was deemed the 2024 BIG EAST Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year earlier this season.

SCOUTING THE HUSKIES (8-2-4, 3-1-1 BIG EAST)
Connecticut enters the week with an 8-2-4 overall record including a 3-1-1 mark in conference action. The team is currently tied for second in the BIG EAST East Division. The Huskies are coming off a scoreless draw at Bryant on Oct. 15 and a 1-0 win at Butler on Oct. 19.
Junior Eli Conway and redshirt-freshman Sabri Hanni lead the Husky offense with four goals each. Senior Scott Testori follows with 10 points on the season. Testori earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll on Oct.22 after he scored the deciding goal at Butler.
Redshirt-freshman goalkeeper Max Kerkvliet has played in all 14 games for UConn this season. He holds a 0.57 goals-against average and a 0.852 save percentage. Kerkvliet has recorded seven shutouts — the most by any freshman goalkeeper in the country. On Oct. 22, he earned his fourth BIG EAST weekly recognition, being named BIG EAST Freshman of the Week after securing two shutouts the previous week.
SCOUTING THE WILDCATS (1-8-4, 0-5 BIG EAST)
Villanova enters the week with a 1-8-4 overall record including an 0-5 mark in BIG EAST play. Before playing the Friars, the Wildcats will face-off with Georgetown University on Oct. 23.
Graduates Jason Bouregy and Jorge Garcia lead the Wildcat offensive charge with 12 points each. Bouregy holds a team-best five goals while Garcia has a team-high six assists.
Sebastian Cutler DeJesus and Alex Yagudayev have shared goalkeeping duties for Villanova this season. Cutler DeJesus holds a 1-5-2 record with 19 goals against and a save percentage of 0.635. Yagudayev, who has faced 104 shots this season, has a 2.36 goals-against average and a save percentage of 0.729.

The Friars will close out regular-season conference play when they host the Xavier Musketeers (4-5-5, 1-2-2 BIG EAST) on Nov. 2. Kick-off will be at 2:00 p.m. on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I. Fans unable to attend can stream the game on the BIG EAST Network.
The Friars hold a 6-4-2 all-time series edge over the Musketeers. The last time the two teams met was in the 2023 season when Xavier defeated Providence, 1-0, in the BIG EAST Tournament Semifinals.
