Men's Soccer's Marshall and Montalto Named To 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team

The Friars were picked to finished third in the BIG EAST East Division in the Preseason Men's Soccer Coaches' Poll
NEW YORK, N.Y. - It was announced today (Aug. 11) that senior Brandon Marshall (Wake Forest, N.C.) and Sam Montalto (Stonington, Conn.) of the Providence College men's soccer program were named to the 2026 Preseason All-BIG EAST Team. The Friars were picked to finish third in the BIG EAST East Division, earning one first-place vote.
Marshall, who is entering his fourth season with the Friars, has appeared in 40 games at Providence as one of the top defenders in the BIG EAST. He has totaled one goal and one assist for three points while logging 2,416 minutes over three seasons. Recently, Marshall was named USL2 Defender of the Year as captain of the Vermont Green FC.
Montalto enters his fifth season at Providence after leading the 2025 team in scoring with five goals and three assists for 13 points. For his efforts, Montalto was named as an All-BIG EAST Third Team selection. In 37 career games, he has recorded five goals and five assists.
Providence was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST East Division in the Preseason Coaches' Poll, earning one first-place vote. The Friars finished third in the BIG EAST East Division in 2025 with a 4-2-2 mark in conference play and 6-7-3 overall. Providence was the No. 4 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament, ultimately falling to top-seeded Georgetown in the semifinal round.
