PRINCETON, N.J.– The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Princeton Fall Classic at the Meadows Campus at Princeton University on Friday, October 18. The women's team placed second of 22 teams (65 points) overall and was led by senior
Kimberley May (Auckland, New Zealand) who won the race in a time of 19:16.3. The men placed 10
th of 21 teams and were paced by senior
Michael Morgan (Sligo, Ireland). Morgan finished 22
nd in a time of 23:22.8.
The Friar women entered the race ranked 10th nationally and first in the Northeast Region.
After May, graduate students
Alex Millard (Kent, England) and
Shannon Flockhart (Longstanton, England),) both finished in the top 10. Millard was fifth (19:36.2) and Flockhart placed 10
th (19:51.2). Rounding out the scoring for the Friars was seniors Niamh O'Mahony (Kerry, Ireland) and
Laura Mooney (Cappincur, Ireland). O'Mahony was 20
th (20:11.1) and Mooney was 29
th (20:21.3). A total of 236 runners finished the race.
The men's team, which was ranked fifth in the Northeast Region, was paced by Morgan. After Morgan, freshman
Cormac Dixon (Dublin, Ireland) placed 35
th (23:40.4), graduate student
Liam Back (New Plymouth, England) finished 59th (24:01.6) and graduate student
Pat Thygesen (Brisbane, Australia) was 60
th (24:02.8). Junior
Zane Powell (Auckland, New Zealand) was the final scorer for the Friars, finishing 92
nd (24:23.1). The men's race featured 225 runners.

The Friars will return to action on Friday, October 25 at the Central Connecticut State University Mini Meet in New Britain, Conn. at 3:00 p.m.
