The Friars will travel to Omaha, Nebraska for a BIG EAST match against the Bluejays on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 2:00 p.m. (ET).
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College women's soccer team is set to face Creighton University on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 2:00 p.m. (ET). The match will be played at Morrison Stadium in Omaha, Neb. and will be streamed on FloSports.

SCOUTING THE FRIARS... The Friars enter the week with a 5-6-1 overall record and are 2-2-0 in BIG EAST conference play. Providence has early season wins over Rhode Island, 1-0, Holy Cross, 2-1 and Northeastern, 3-2. The Friars opened BIG EAST play 2-0-0 defeating St. John's, 1-0 and Butler, 1-0. Last week Providence went 0-2-0, losing two road matches to UConn, 1-0 and Seton Hall, 1-0.
Graduate student Kacey Lawrence (Monroe, Conn.) leads the Friars' offense with 12 points through 12 games. Lawrence owns a team-best four goals and four assists.
Freshman Kristin Middaugh (Lancaster, N.Y.) has scored two goals for the Friars this season.
Sophomore Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) has scored one goal and contributed one assist in four games played this season for the Friars.
Freshman Stephanie Schoeley (Thedford, Ontario), sophomore Marryn Gruhn (Northport, N.Y.) and junior Alanna Coffie (Warwick, R.I.) have each scored one goal for the Friars.
Goalkeepers Emma Bodmer (Monroe Township, N.J.) and Ellie Thallman (Northville, Mich.) have shared time in net this season. Bodmer has started all 12 games for the Friars logging 660 minutes in net. This season the graduate student has compiled a 1.64 goals against average and a 0.707 save percentage. Thallman has appeared in nine games for a total of 405 minutes. The graduate student has logged a 0.89 goals against average and a 0.810 save percentage this season.
ELLIE THALLMAN NAMED BIG EAST GOALKEEPER OF THE WEEK... Graduate student Ellie Thallman was named BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week on Sept. 30. Thallman played the second half in each game and held St. John's and Butler scoreless enroute to 1-0 victories over both teams. The graduate student recorded two saves, and also denied a penalty-kick attempt against Butler.
TWO MEMBERS OF THE FRIARS QUALIFIED FOR THE 2024 FIFA UNDER-20 WORLD CUP… Junior Ella McBride (Peterborough, Canada) and Sophomore Kayla Briggs (Toronto, Canada) qualified for the U-20 FIFA World Cup 2024 and represented Canada's National Team. McBride recorded one goal and two assists on the tournament. Briggs scored two goals and recorded one assist for Canada.
KAYLA BRIGGS NAMED TO PRESEASON ALL-BIG EAST TEAM... Sophomore Kayla Briggs received preseason recognition as a member of the Preseason ALL-BIG EAST Team. The BIG EAST released its 2024 Preseason Coaches' Poll and preseason honors Tuesday (Aug. 13).
SERIES HISTORY AGAINST CREIGHTON... The Friars hold a 6-4-0 all-time record against the Bluejays. In their last meeting, the Friars earned a 3-1 victory in Providence, R.I. during the 2023 campaign.
SCOUTING THE BLUEJAYS... Creighton enters Sunday's contest with a 5-5-1 overall record. The Bluejays are 2-3-0 in BIG EAST play. Last week, Creighton went 1-1. The Jays lost to Xavier (2-1) and defeated UConn (2-1).
Senior Azumi Manriki leads the Creighton offense this season with three goals. Redshirt-senior Ariana Mondiri has contributed five points on two goals and one assist this season. Senior Stella Downing scored her first two goals of the season for the Bluejays last week and earned BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week honors (Oct. 7). Senior Alyssa Judkins eanred a BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Selection for Creighton Sept. 16. Goalkeeper Alyssa Zalac has started all 11 games for the Bluejays in goal this season. She has logged 990 minutes in net and owns a 1.27 goals against average and a 0.750 save percentage on 42 saves and 14 goals allowed.
UP NEXT... The Friars will host No. 18 Georgetown on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 6:00 p.m. The Hoyas currently hold an 8-1-4 overall record and are 4-0-1 in BIG EAST play. The match will be played on Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium in Providence, R.I.
