Chase Yoder scored twice including the game-winning goal with 4:30 left in regulation as the No. 9 Providence College men's hockey team erased three one-goal deficits to rally past top-ranked Boston College, 4-3, on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
- Boston College struck first as Oskar Jellvik got behind the defense and beat Svedeback under the crossbar.
- After another solid effort in the second period, the Friars finally got on the board as
Chase Yoder re-directed a pass from
Hudson Malinoski past Fowler for his seventh goal of the season.
Guillaume Richard also earned an assist on the power play marker.
- Just 20 seconds later, BC's Will Smith beat Svedebäck on the backhand off a partial breakaway to regain the lead for the Eagles at 2-1.

Jamie Engelbert tied the game at 2-2 just 1:27 into the third period as he beat Fowler with a wrist shot from just inside the blue.
Austen May and
Taige Harding earned the assists on Engelbert's fifth goal of the year.
- Gabe Perreault gave Boston College a 3-2 lead on the power play at 6:26 of the third period.

Bennett Schimek once again tied the game from the Friars at 10:16, burying a great centering pass from
Graham Gamache for his third goal of the year.
- Providence kept the momentum going as Yoder finished off his second of the night and the team-high eighth goal of the year with 4:30 remaining in regulation.
- Philip Svedebäck stood tall in the final minutes to preserve the lead and give Providence three points in the Hockey East standings.
- The Friars defeated the No. 1 team in the country for the first time since Dec. 3, 2011 against then No. 1 Merrimack.
- Providence has earned wins against three top-five opponents this season (Boston College, Denver and Michigan).

Max Crozier Makes NHL Debut
- Former Friar captain
Max Crozier made his NHL Debut on Jan. 13 for the Tampa Bay Lightning, becoming the 46th Friar to appear in an NHL game. Crozier finished the night with an even rating and 13:00 of time on ice

Leaman Hits Milestone
Head Coach
Nate Leaman earned his 249th career victory at Providence on Nov. 11, passing Lou Lamoriello as the program's winningest head coach all-time. Leaman sits at 390 career victories as a Division I head coach.

Friar captain
Chase Yoder earned Hockey East Player of the Week honors on Monday, Jan. 15 after his two-goal performance that boosted the Friars to a thrilling 4-3 win over No. 1 Boston College last Saturday.

- UAA enters the weekend coming off a 2-2 road tie against rival Alaska Fairbanks in a Governor's Cup game on Jan. 13.
- Through 21 games this season, Ben Almquist (6-11-17), Max Helgeson (9-5-14), Riley Thompson (3-8-11) and Brett Bamber (3-7-10) pace the Seawolves in scoring.
- In goal, Jared Whale has logged 16 appearances in net with a 2.96 GAA, .908 save percentage and 5-9-1 record.
- UAA is 3-9-1 on the road this season. This will mark their second trip out to New England in just over six weeks after suffering a sweep at UMass from Dec. 8-9.

- This weekend marks just the sixth and seventh all-time meetings between the two schools and the first since 1992. Providence defeated UAA in overtime, 5-4, in the only meeting at Schneider Arena back in 1990.
