Cambridge, Mass. - The Providence College volleyball team fell to Harvard in five sets (3-2) on Saturday, September 16 in Cambridge, Mass. The Friars will begin BIG EAST play on Friday, September 22 against Seton Hall in South Orange, N.J.

FIRST SET HIGHLIGHTS: Harvard won set one, 25-21.
- The Crimson got off to a 7-4 lead to start the first set.
- The Friars went on a 9-6 run to tie the set, 13-13.
- Harvard went on a 9-5 run late in the set to win, 25-21.

Savannah Ivie (Frisco, Texas) registered eight digs in the first set.

SECOND SET HIGHLIGHTS: Providence took set two, 25-14.
- The Friars got off to a quick start with a 7-1 lead.Â
- They extended their lead through the middle of the set making it 15-6, forcing a Harvard timeout.Â
- They controlled the lead for the rest of the set, winning 25-14.

Shaliyah Rhoden (Rowlett, Texas) and
Macy Taylor (Rowlett, Texas) each had three kills in the second set.

THIRD SET HIGHLIGHTS:Â The Crimson took set three, 25-15, for the 2-1 edge in the set.
- Harvard started the third set with a 9-6 lead.
- The Crimson held onto their lead through the middle of the set giving them the 15-10 lead.
- Harvard closed out the set with a 10-5 run to earn the win (25-15).

Kayla Grant (Rowlett, Texas) recorded four kills for the Friars in the third set.

FOURTH SET HIGHLIGHT:Â The Friars won the fourth, 26-24, to tie the match and force a deciding set.
- The two teams went back-and-forth to start the set making it 12-12.
- The Crimson went on a 5-1 run to take the 17-13 lead.
- The Friars went on a 7-4 run to cut the score to 21-20 before tying the set at 24-24.
- Providence scored four unanswered points at the end of the set to win 26-24.
- Rhoden recorded three kills for the Friars in the fourth set.

FIFTH SET HIGHLIGHTS: Harvard won the fifth set, 15-11, to win the match.Â
- The Friars started the fifth set on a 5-2 run, forcing the Crimson to call a timeout.
- The Crimson scored three unanswered points to make the score to 7-5.
- Harvard went on a 7-1 run to take the 12-9 lead forcing a Providence timeout.
- Harvard closed out the set to win the match.
- Taylor had four kills in the final set.

- Rhoden, Grant and Taylor each recorded 12 kills for the Friars offense.
- Savnnah Ivie had a team high 21 digs.
- As a team the Friars recorded 40 kills and 60 digs.
