PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Providence College men's and women's cross country teams competed in Brown University's Rothenberg Invite today, Sept. 1 on the Mark Coogan Course at Highland Park in Attleboro, Mass. The Friar women captured the top-three finishes. Freshman
Reese Fahys (East Greenwich, R.I.) led the Friar women with a first place finish (10:44.0).
Led by Fahys, the Providence women's team finished first with 23 points.
Cara Laverty (Derry, Ireland) finished second (10:53.3) and
Alex O'Neill (Ennis, Ireland) placed third (10:58.2).
Claire Kelly (Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y.) placed seventh (11:06.4) and
Olivia Belt (Cumberland, R.I.) placed 10
th (11:24.2) to round out the scoring for the Friar women.
Josh Lewin (West Chester, Pa.) led the Friar men with a 19
th place finish (19:20.1).
Aidan Higley (Wilmington, Del.) and
Jacob Hefele (Danbury, Conn.) followed in 21
st (19:27.5) and 27
th (19:43.7), respectively.
The Friar men's and women's teams will return to the Mark Coogan Course on Friday, September 8 for the Friar Invitational.
