Senior goalkeeper Lukas Burns made six saves for the Friars.
SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The Providence College men's soccer team fell to No. 1 Syracuse, 2-0, in the team's season-opener on Thursday, Aug. 24 at the SU Stadium in Syracuse, N.Y.

GAME FLOW & NOTES
-The Orange took an early lead after Lorenzo Boselli headed the ball to the back of the net in the fifth minute.
-Boselli scored his second goal in the 12th minute by a header from a corner kick from Mateo Leveque.
-Lukas Burns made four impressive saves to hold the deficit at 2-0 heading into the half. He finished the night with six saves overall.
-Providence gained some momentum in the second half, landing two of their four shot attempts on goal.
-Brendan McSorley (Randolph, N.J.) led the way for the Friars with three shots and two goals on target.

(1-0)- Syracuse- 5:39/ 1st – Giona Leibold crossed the ball from left side of the field into penalty box to Lorenzo Boselli who headed the ball to the back of the net.
(2-0)- Syracuse- 12:08/1st- Mateo Leveque's corner kick curled into the near post where Lorenzo Boselli was able to head it in for his second goal.
