JACKSONVILLE, Fla.– Providence College graduate students
Marcelo Rocha (Peabody, Mass.) and
David McGlynn (Waterford, Ireland) and junior
Shane Coffey (Naas, Ireland) ran the men's 10,000 meters today, May 24 at the NCAA First Round competitions at the University of North Florida in Jacksonville, Fla.
Rocha ran a strong race, finishing seventh in a time of 29:05.20 which qualified him for the NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships held June 7-10 in Austin, Texas. McGlynn followed in 19
th with a time of 29:46.41. Rounding out the 10,000 meters, Coffey ran in a time of 30:34.47 for 35
th place. All three Friars beat their pre-race ranking.
The Friars return to action Thursday, May 25 for the women's 1,500-meter at 6:30 p.m.
