• Providence missed its first six attempts from the field before Olivia Olsen converted the Friars' first bucket at the 4:31 mark (6-2).
• Marquette used a 9-2 run over the final 3:47 of the quarter to claim a 15-6 lead at the intermission.

• Seven-straight points by Nariah Scott got the Friars within two (48-46) with 4:29 on the clock.
• Marquette was scoreless for 6:23 before Jordan King hit 1-2 free throws with 2:24 left (49-46).
Grace Efosa was fouled on a hard take to the basket with 1:11 on the clock and sank both foul shots to inch within one (49-48).
• Providence forced a turnover and Sheppard drilled a three on the other end to give Providence its first lead of the game with 43.7-seconds left (51-49).
