Nick Poisson registered two goals for the Friars on Saturday.
CHESTNUT HILL, MASS. – The No. 9/10 Providence College men's hockey team rallied from a 2-0 deficit to take a third period lead, but No. 2/3 Boston College responded with three-consecutive goals for a 5-4 victory on Saturday (Dec. 9) at Conte Forum. Providence concludes its first half schedule at 9-5-2 overall and 4-3-2 in Hockey East play.

NOTES
- The Friars' penalty kill went to work early in the first period, killing a long Eagles man-advantage after losing Jaroslav Chmelar to a major penalty and game misconduct.
- The Friars and Eagles skated to a scoreless result through the first frame, with Boston College leading the shot count 11-8.
- Providence's power-play unit went to work on a long Eagles penalty-kill early in the second period, but came up unsuccessful.
- Boston College's power-play broke through just under seven minutes into the second period, as Will Smith beat Svedebäck blocker-side on a one-timer from the circle to give the Eagles the 1-0 lead. Gabe Perrault and Cutter Gauthier notched assists on the power-play goal.
- Just over two minutes later, Boston College's power-play doubled the lead for the Eagles off a Gabe Perreault backhanded shot in the slot. Eamon Powell and Ryan Leonard fed Perrault on the goal.
- The Friars' offense broke through late in the second period, as Nick Poisson tipped a Guillaume Richard shot from the point to cut the lead to 2-1. Brady Berard also registered an assist on the play.
- Following a Boston College turnover in the neutral zone, Jamie Engelbert found the equalizer for the Friars early in the third period, beating Jacob Fowler for his fourth of the season. Bennett Schimek and Brady Berard fed him on the goal.
- Just over four minutes later, the Friars took their first lead of the evening on the power play, as Austen May scored a one-timer from Tanner Adams in the high-slot, giving the sophomore blue-liner his second goal of the season and the Friars the 3-2 lead. Luke Krys also registered an assist on the play.
- Boston College responded 31 seconds later, as Cutter Gauthier picked up a drop pass from Drew Fortescue at the face-off circle before beating Svedebäck and tying the game at 3-3.
- The Eagles retook their lead on the power-play with 2:20 to go in the third period, as Oskar Jellvik went top shelf from the face-off circle for his eighth score on the season, giving Boston the 4-3 advantage. Feeding Jellvik on the score was Jacob Bengtsson and Lukas Gustafsson.
- Just over a minute later, Andre Gasseau found Jellvik in the slot, where he pulled Svedebäck out of position to net his second score of the game, giving the Eagles the 5-3 lead. Also assisting on the play was Cutter Gauthier.
- With nine seconds to go and an extra attacker on the ice, defenseman Connor Kelley found Nick Poisson alone on the blue-line, where he notched his second of the game, bringing about the final 5-4 score. Chase Yoder registered an assist on the face-off win.
- Ten different Friars tallied points in the loss, headlined by a pair of goals from Nick Poisson and a pair of assists from Brady Berard.
- Defenseman Luke Krys paced the Friars in shots, leading the way with five pucks on net. Following him was Austen May, who tallied four shots and Riley Duran, who ended with three shots on net.
